BENJAMIN RAUCH, soprano, is a freshman member of Chanticleer. A native of Oceanside, New York, he has done a lot of work with the Long Island Composers' Alliance, winning First Place two years in a row in their Young Composers Competition. His eclectic musical interests brought him to the Hartt School of Music where he majored in Vocal Performance, Choral Conducting and Composition. At Hartt, he co-founded and served as the Music Director of L'Shir, the University of Hartford's first a cappella group. L'Shir's repertoire included many of Benjamin's original compositions and arrangements, including Shalom Rav, which won Best Arrangement from the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. Before joining Chanticleer, Benjamin served as the Cantorial Soloist at Temple Sinai of Long Island. An admitted choir nerd, he is overjoyed to sing with Chanticleer, and remains grateful for the love and support of his family and friends. |
