We whizzed along to Bruges from Eindhoven, jumping off the bus to look at one of our favorite towns, look for our favorite chocolate and so on. It was lightly snowing.
Sometimes when you least expect it on the road, you get thrown a nice curve - an unexpectedly good acoustic, friends showing up unexpectedly, or - every great once in a while - a spectacular hotel!! Check this out!
Here's the Concertgebouw - on the left, as the snow kept on coming. Eventually it caused a backup of many hundreds of kilometers and kept about a quarter of our audience from arriving.
Our good friend Michael McGlynn did arrive from Dublin rather spontaneously. Always good to see him! Michael directs the Irish choir Anuna, sometimes composes and arranges for us, and hosted our memorable debut visit to Ireland two years ago.
