Here are a few photos taken with my iphone of our day off Saturday. It's been a strange tour, in its way - including various bits of re-routing starting with having to by-pass Huntsville. The concerts and classes have gone well, but we were ready for a carefree day! Casey, Mike, and I decided to go to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA just an hour drive from Virginia Beach, VA where we were staying. We had a magnificent time. The weather couldn't have been more perfect for a day at an amusement park, about 75 degrees. The lines were pretty short for the rides, which allowed for multiple rides of some of our favorites. Such was the case on the Apollo's Chariot roller coaster. This photo was the result of our third time riding the roller coaster and knowing exactly were the camera was, especially Casey.
Mike and Greg: we were on the Roman Rapids water ride were Mike got completely drenched after being repeatedly hit by the water falls. We had a brief conversation with a 13yr old boy, including sharing our ages. His response to my age was "WOW..followed by a pause to process the large number...then the words "yeah you are old" . Mike Axtell was also very relieved that his phone was still functioning since we neglected to put our phones in a locker.
Casey and Mike with their 3D glasses just before boarding the Curse of DarKastle ride, one of the rides about which we were the least enthusiastic, although we had to wait the longest to get on it...go figure
Just me at the entrance of the park on our way out- flush with the excitement of the day at Busch Gardens. A great rest up for our trip to Swift Current, Saskatchewan - across the Canadian border for the second time this spring - for a performance on Thursday - our last touring performance of this season, believe it or not.
