Very auspiciously for our Edinburgh debut - it wasn't raining.  They've had a horrible August, with the skies opening on the Military Tattoo and such.  We were very excited to get there.  Hard to believe that the last concert on this tour had arrived.  The 11am series at The Queen's Hall has a distinguished roster including Diana Damrau and Yundi Li, and a very devoted following particularly amongst residents of Edinburgh.  We did a different concert of our "Love Story" repertoire, with each half anchored by a piece corresponding to the Asian theme of this year's festival -  Stephen Paulus' "The Lotus Lovers"  in the first half and Chen Yi's "Spring Dreams"  in the second.  Everything from Victoria to Strauss to Tavener to Queen got a lively response.Rather than flowers, the Festival  gives you a bottle of Scotch! A lovely lunch followed, and we had the afternoon and evening to look around.

Civilized British concert going!

We're going to  San Francisco via London tomorrow, Thursday.  Our San Francisco season begins on September 16, then we head out at the end of the month, looking forward to seeing you along the way.
