We arrived in New York to balmy weather and a light rain - very autumnal. It's also still November, so we were slightly confused about Christmas until we saw the Christmas tree in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Medieval Sculpture Court, our home at this time of year for decades. We're doing six concerts here; the first two were packed with people who clearly start their Christmas season with us.

20111130-105502.jpgIn New York we introduce what we call the 'short program' - a 70 minute version of the full-length program. We do this short program when we have two concerts in an evening - here at the Met, and in Petaluma, Santa Clara, and Carmel, at home. Some of this year's Chanticleer Christmas gems are by Guerrero and Mantyjarvi , along with such popular classics as "O Holy Night" this year featuring a solo by Matt Curtis. Joe Jenning's gospel medley "Everywhere I go.." is also a favorite of ours. The program will start being aired by American Public Media in mid December. See you soon - on the air or in person.
