We've performed in Grand Rapids and Traverse City, Michigan, and South Bend, Indiana this weekend, and today we're on the move to Danville, Kentucky for a masterclass and concert. Then Chicago for our whirlwind visit to the ACDA national convention where we're guest artists. We're planning some surprises for the ACDA audience, so stay tuned for reports!
Meanwhile, LAB CHOIR 3 is keeping up a Chanticleer-like pace ( PLUS they go to school during the day!.) Yesterday they did a noon concert at Rossmoor retirement community which went very well, we hear.. Today they got to sing their whole program at First Church of Christ Scientist in rainy San Francisco for an enthusiastic audience of friends, family, Chanticleer staff and board members and more. We heard it was great, and they've done amazing things in their short time together. It went like a Chanticleer day, starting with warmup:
there was a very short break between warmup and concert
Ben talked about LAB CHOIR's goals and activities and narrated the program which had an early set, a celtic set, and a new and bluesy set featuring song which are a big hit with LAB CHOIR's school audiences "Teddy Bears' Picnic "( complete with ears,), Ellington's "Creole Love Call," and "Cells Planets" which is also on our program this year. While we have one soloist (Casey) in Cells Planets, Lab Choir has two - one of whom also signs.
A standing ovation and then a meet and greet - it's the singing life!
