On a gorgeous hot day ( the summer we never had) we performed "Out of this World" at the Napa Opera House, in the middle of our beautiful wine country. This was our second time here, and we'll be back twice this season. Not such a hardship to go up there - about an hour and a half from San Francisco. Something new and fun this time - George Grohdal of the Chanticleer Winery near Yountville poured his Sangiovese at a post concert donor reception.
We were happy to discover that it's wonderful wine and we look forward to future collaborations with George and the winery!!!
One more "Out of this World" in the Bay Area - Sacramento on Sunday, then we're off on Wednesday for Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois and New York State.
Earlier in the day several of us had stopped by the LAB Choir's rehearsal to hear them for the first time and offer any tips that might be helpful. They were working hard on all their repertoire, including Kirke Mechem's Island in Space. Pretty impressive! We're happy to see that this session of the LAB Choir includes a counter tenor.
