San Luis Obispo being full up with graduating college activity, we commuted for that performance from Santa Maria, 35 miles to the south. It was brought to our attention that Santa Maria is famous for barbecue, particularly the kind of been known as tri tip which not everybody in America knows about. Brian found a highly recommended one called Rancho Nipomo where we gathered before taking the beautiful drive on to Santa Barbara. Perfect weather, a tasty meal, and sitting outside in the sunshine to eat was a little preview of our coming European festival tour in July although we doubt the French would appreciate pulled pork and tri-tip sandwiches. We'll remember them while we're having snails on the shores of le lac Annecy a month from now.
