Carmel by the Sea: Mia Alatorre’s first Chanticleer concert

Monday, December 23rd, 2013
We sang the Christmas story 21 times, and then today we arrived at the Mission Carmel -a favorite Christmas venue for many-for two final concerts. In the sold out 6pm audience was (among others of course) Mia, Eric’s daughter, attending her very first Chanticleer concert, with her mother. Seems amazing, as it always does, that we arrived at this date, and that tomorrow we’ll join the throngs going hime for the holidays. It was a good Christmas season for us, and we thank all of you who came to see us, or tuned into the American Public Media broadcast of our concert. Happy holidays and we’ll see you in the new year.

I thought it would be helpful to post the URL for said American Public Media broadcast; each year it changes. It is possible for one to keep an archive of each year’s URL’s in order to access past years’ concerts. http://americanpublicmedia.publicradio.org/classical/holidays/display/web/2013/12/01/chanticleer_christmas The more conventional way to find the APM broadcast is via classicalapm.org.

Mia is lucky like my San Francisco grandchildren, getting to hear this beautiful music. You made my Christmas Day and gave us the best present, while listening to the broadcast from the church in New York. Thanks you and have a wonderful trip.
