One magical evening in 1978 nine gentlemen, adorned in white tie and tails, lit candles inside the Old Mission Dolores and introduced San Francisco to a newly formed vocal ensemble called Chanticleer. Since those humble beginnings, more than 120 men have sung with the ensemble, more than 40 records have been made, and two Grammy Awards have been won by this “orchestra of voices.” What a fantastic journey it has been!
On June 27, 2018, we will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of that first San Francisco performance at the same Old Mission Dolores with group of longstanding friends and supporters.
The performance has long been sold-out, but one lucky KDFC listener will win a pair of tickets. Click on the button below to enter.
The concert will also be rebroadcast on KDFC on Sunday, July 15th at 8pm. The concert will be available to stream on-demand following the rebroadcast.
