New Year starts with nice review for Someone New, packing our winter clothes for Europe

Monday, January 6th, 2014

We're coming back to work after our Christmas break to find the following review of our latest CD, Someone New, happy results for our Christmas season when we sold out all but one of our Bay Area concerts, and a wintry tour to Europe coming up very quickly.

Next Wednesday we will leave for Vienna where our first concert of this tour will happen in the Musikverein. The then on to Innsbruck, Fredrichshafen before we arrive in Budapest for a concert in the newly renovated LisztAcademie.  This will be our debut in that hall – previous concerts in Budapest having been in Bela Bartok Hall.  Prague's Rudolfinum will be next before we embark for Moscow and St. Petersburg – our debut in both Russian cities.  Antwerp, Paris, Rotterdam and Bruges precede the final concerts of the tour in Dublin and Cork.  We're taking our "She Said/He Said" program as well as our Venetian Renaissance program for Paris.   This tour will feature two Community Sing events ( in which we sing with groups of local citizens) in Vienna and Cork.  In Vienna,  concert ticket holders may sign up to participate, and in Cork choral singers from around Ireland have been invited.  These events are always fun.  Stay tuned!

Kudos to Chanticleer for always having at least one bilingual (or multilingual) singer. If you have happened upon in-ensemble interpreters for Hungarian, Czech, Russian, and Dutch, salary should be raised. :-) A tour to Europe has got to be a grand way to start off the new year! Safe travels, gentlemen!
