We are very honored to be part of the 70th season of the Los Alamos Concert Association, which has presented leading American artists here since l946.  Originally over a long association with Community Concerts singers such  as Maureen Forrester, Victoria de los Angeles, and Donald Gramm appeared.  Choral groups such as the Von Trapp Family Singers ( in l947), the Robert Shaw Chorale, the Vienna Choir Boys, us in 2000, and more have sung here, as have many legendary instrumentalists;  Julian Bream, Andres Segovia, Pierre Fournier, Roslyn Tureck, Midori among them.  It's a very small almost one company town ( 'the lab') with a population including many many scientists, and a culture full of art and music.  We wish we could have stayed longer.  The Concert Association is an all volunteer organization; we salute them for their dedication.  If the full and attentive audience in the Duane Smith Auditorium  tonight were any indication, they'll be around forever and perhaps we can come back.  Early concerts were held in The Lodge where the Manhattan Project people gathered and where we were offered a great dinner afterwards in the company of many very interesting audience members.
