A short plane right from Blue Grass airport in Lexington, Kentucky, and we arrived in Chicago with a few hours to spare before rehearsal.  In those scant few hours, Eric found pheasant confit to eat; he was pleased.  As guest artists at the national American Choral Directors' Association conference, we will give an interest session tomorrow afternoon, then a short concert twice - once at Roosevelt University at 7.30pm, then again at Orchestra Hall at 9pm.  We have a program we hope will be entertaining for the 4000 or so choral people here:  the premiere of a new piece by Steven Sametz written for us,  "Observer in the Magellanic Cloud" by Mason Bates, along with Ericka Lloyd/Vince Peterson's "Cells Planets" and Chen Yi's "Spring Dreams."  For "Spring Dreams' we've brought Crystal Lee ( an SF Miss Chinatown) to dance.   She danced to this song when we did it for the Ethnic Dance Festival in SF last summer.  We've just released a single of Spring Dreams for download on our website."Cells Planets" has been available for download for a while but now   Hinshaw has printed it so other choruses can sing it - it goes on sale tomorrow!

We were very efficiently marched from room to room and onto the stage to find our places.  It was good  to have the time because of the Spring Dreams choreography.

Hope the folks enjoy it!
