Since we got back from our U.S. summer festival tour in mid-July,  Fred Scott has been directing  rehearsals of our touring program "The Gypsy in My Soul" and our sacred program "Le Mystere"  which will have their first performances in France in two weeks.  We're looking forward to revisiting some of our favorite European summer places, as well as seeing new ones in Italy - notably Ravello, near Naples.  A long way from our rehearsal rooms at 44 Page Street in San Francisco. photo-2photo-3

Meanwhile our Education department is doing  Skills/LAB,  one of this season's  two fairly massive educational  projects  ( The other is the National Youth Choral Festival in March.)  The  7 day Skills/LAB program happens in our building and is directed by our Education Director Ben Johns.  53 singers between 14 and 22 will work 8 or 9 hours a day with our staff  to improve their musical and vocal skills.  Some have already been with us in the Louis A. Botto (LAB) Choir, others would like to be, and others want to be better singers in their high school choirs.  Their big finale is on August 8 at 7.30pm at St. Mark's Lutheran.  We won't be able to see it because we have an event of our own that night at the Carolands.  The 14-15 season is off and running.
