Last night's debut went well. The always-enthusiastic audience at George Mason (Fairfax) was there in full force--in fact, the house looked even fuller than some of us remembered in past seasons. The crowd response was particularly strong for pieces by Victoria (his sublime "Alma redemptoris mater"), Chesnokov, several carols, the Gospel medley, and of course Biebl's "Ave Maria," which is one of Chanticleer's many Christmas traditions. Onward today to a matinee in Manassas (just a few miles farther down the road) at another campus of George Mason University... and two concerts tomorrow in Richmond, VA. It is Christmas indeed! -Jace
