Yesterday, LAB 3 sang two concerts for Stanley Middle School in Lafayette. As you can see from the pictures, there were so many 6-8th graders that some had to sit on the floor. But it looks like they didn't mind so much. We engaged them with lots of listening assignments, like what sort of instruments they heard in Creole Love Call and what language they thought An Oiche was in. And there were plenty of good giggles for our rendition of Teddy Bears' Picnic.
LAB 3 performed really well. They sang both concerts fully unconducted. True to form, about 9 of us sang an impromptu concert outside of Diablo Foods following the in-school visit because 2 concerts wasn't enough singing. We even garnered interest from a few people passing by and directed them to attend our full concert on Sunday this weekend. The singing life is good!
