LAB XII premiered two more student compositions this Saturday evening at San Francisco Towers: "Morning Psalm" by Kari Betton and "Kyrie" by Julie LeDuc. "Morning Psalm" went so well that an audience member requested that we sing it we did! And when someone else from the audience asked if Chanticleer has ever formed choirs for retirement-aged singers, we created a new cross-generational choir on the spot with a spirited round of Jingle Bells.

The performance came at the end of another long rehearsal day. We met at 11am as usual, rehearsed until 5:30pm, had dinner, then met at SF Towers at 7:30 for an 8pm performance. The picture attached, taken after the concert in the SF Towers lobby area, shows the singers still energetic despite the full day.

The group meets again for a rehearsal on Nov. 22 to prepare for a Nov. 23 San Francisco Symphony event. And it sounds like the singers are conspiring to go caroling once December hits.IMAG0720
