It's not often we find ourselves singing a concert among orchids and manicured ferns, but such was the case during last night's performance in the sublime Longwood Gardens (about 30 miles outside of Philadelphia in Kennett Square, PA). The space was impressive to say the least, and the gardens impeccably kept. With the perfume of lilies in the air, we shared a lovely evening, inspired by the beauty of our surroundings. The capacity crowd of 300+ was quietly attentive, and while the atmosphere was rather different than the mania at NAfME two nights ago in Hartford, the audience was very appreciative. They gave us a lengthy standing ovation and cheered for an encore. Steven Stucky was in attendance--it was good to reconnect with him. We feel fortunate to have experienced this unusual concert venue and hope to be back in the future - Jace.
