Chanticleer invites you on a journey through the soul of San Francisco—a city of voices, visions, and vibrant harmony. From its storied avenues and fog-kissed peaks to its rich legacy of innovation and inclusion, San Francisco has long been a muse for artists and a beacon for dreamers. In this program, we honor the city’s diverse musical heritage, lifting up the works of Bay Area composers past and present, echoing the spirituals of resilience, the jazz of revolution, the folk of protest, and the contemporary sounds that continue to shape the cultural landscape. Interwoven through this program are tributes to the many identities that call this city home—voices of LGBTQ+ pride, immigrant spirit, and creative defiance.
iSING joins CHANTICLEER for one night only! Friday, March 27, 2026 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Palo Alto
iSing Silicon Valley illuminates the stage with three radiant songs exploring light through poetry, nature, and love. The performance opens with a stunning choral setting of Hafiz's poem "The Sun Never Says," followed by Moira Smiley's "Talk to Me of Mendocino" in a newly commissioned arrangement that paints dawn breaking over California's redwoods.
The set culminates with "Give Yourself to Love," originally written by beloved San Francisco folk singer Kate Wolf. This special choral arrangement was created by Blake Morgan—Chanticleer alumnus and current VOCES8 member—and will be performed by both Chanticleer and iSing.
