IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

The Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer will perform live on A Prairie Home Companion this Saturday, January 16. One of the country’s most popular and enduring radio shows, it is broadcast live at 6PM on the East Coast and delayed until 6PM for West Coast listeners, including those tuning into KQED in the San Francisco Bay Area – Chanticleer’s home territory (check local listings). The program’s creator and host, Garrison Keillor, has invited the “orchestra of voices” to join him at San Francisco’s War Memorial Opera House for a show that will also feature legendary Scottish folk singer Jean Redpath and Chicago Blues singer Elvin Bishop.

Chanticleer’s previous appearance on A Prairie Home Companion was in 1987. A Prairie Home Companion is heard by more than 4 million listeners each week on some 590 public radio stations, and abroad on America One and the Armed Forces Networks in Europe and the Far East. A list of stations is available at the following link: http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/stations/
